Military Technology In World War 2.
I chose this topic and it is very interesting to me because of the military advancements that occurred in World War Two. They developed Jet aircraft and missiles as well as the atomic bomb in World War Two. They had better vehicles and ships too. World War Two had bigger and more dangerous weapons. The advancements such as the flame thrower were deadly. The weapons could kill many people at a time. They used aircraft and missiles to destroy enemy war effort. They would bomb enemy cities and military factories. They developed sonar and radar which was used to detect submarines and aircraft. This was a big invention that really helped in the war. They used them on boats and military bases as well as ships. That I find very cool. Countries like the US had boats that could pull right up to shore to unload troops and supplies. In World War Two the Soviet Union developed the T-34 tank which was the fastest and had an 85mm main gun and two machine guns on it. So compared to other previous wars the development of weapons increased. Land warfare became more strategic. This all relates to World War Two because these are some of the weapons used in the war and they caused a lot of damage. I learned about these weapons and how they used them. I also learned how much damage these weapons caused. These were some big advancements.
The atomic bomb was developed by the Unites States and was called the Manhattan Project. After Japan dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor, the United States was furious and we dropped the A-Bomb on Japan. We hit Hiroshima Nagasaki. The atomic bomb was very deadly. Within a month of dropping the A bomb on Hiroshima, there were between 90,000 and 166,000 people dead by the explosion and after effects. In Nagasaki there were between 60,000 and 90,000 people dead. After the United States dropped them, Japan surrendered. That is the only time in history the atomic bomb has been used. I learned a lot and I found this topic of the military advancements very interesting and that is why I chose this topic.
